Entertaining, fun, and yet it is missing the components from the rest of the series.

SR:4 is a pretty fun game. The character lines go from mildly entertaining to absolutely hilarious. The game play follows form from the previous games. You have multiple weapons for multiple weapon class slots, you can upgrade them as you see fit, or and you can swing a nice BIG Japanese sex toy.

The superpowers are both a positive and a negative.

Pros: You have super powers. You can kill stuff in spectacular ways. Sprinting up to someone and doing a super strength wrestling take down is satisfying everytime. Short from flying, you can get around pretty darn quick.

Cons: You have super powers. Encounters against enemy gangs/cops now end up as minor nuisances, even harder enemies don't get too tough once fully powered. You don't have any need for homies aside from the joys of having them around. I only called mine because I wanted to roll with my crew. Cars are a trivial thing unless you are on an escort quest, or completing challenges.

My "problem", is I also like to complete a bunch of the side stuff before I move along in the main campaign. This allowed me to be a complete boss when moving through missions, but if you aren't careful, you end up missing minor conversations between you and your homies. I had all the Homie side quests done before they even gave them to me, which was nice, but I would've liked to hear the conversations.

It also felt like there was no enemy presence. Sure, you have territories to take and control, but it just doesn't feel the same from the previous games. Who needs to worry about police/Zinn showing up when you can just super sprint away and the meter goes back to zero?

The issues I had with the game are still downplayed by how amazingly entertaining SR: 4 can be.

Sidenote:
If you plan on giving this game a horrible score because it tries to be some sort of GTA/ Prototype knockoff, you missed the point entirely. SR has never attempted to be a knockoff about any kind. Sure it's moved away from it's gang-centric core, but it never focused on trying to add things GTA has? Hey Boss, it's your cousin, want to go bowling?
