There's not been another game I am willing to play a second time, like this one.

I played SOC the day it came out some few years ago and it consumed all my game time at that stage. I had other new games that I bought roughly the same time but were shelved until SOC was finished. It made that much of an impression on me.

Now, I do not re-play games EVER, but this game's been stalking me (excuse the pun) for the last 2 yrs, asking to be reinstalled and be played again. I don't know why but there you have it. I downloaded the MODD called Stalker Complete 2009 and with this installed the game transformed to a spectacle of glorious graphical enhanced goodness, weighing in at 780mb or so one can expect this to add some goodness. It now feels and looks the same way it was those few years ago when I installed it for the first time. Apart from the game needing a patch back then it looked amazing. With this modd it just revitalised itself into the next gen category imo.

It's just been rumoured that Bethesda might have picked up the rights to continue the Stalker universe. I have my fears and excitements about this bit of gossip. Mainly to be able to play a Stalker type game again really gets me buzzing.

I don't know what to write here to make this game sound more appealing than what it is already. It's just something that you have to play before you move on in life to some other place. It's eerie/gritty/action packed and darn right scary at most times.

The follow up games Stalker Clear Sky / Call of Pripyat were both excellent, but this original Stalker will always be my favourite.
