I haven't cared to buy this game when it was released because of the low reviews given to it. It was given free by xbox live. I decided to give it a try because, also, for the length due to it is bad, it would only take 8 hours to beat.
Well, the game was far better than expected. It is good enough to play it but it wasn't a great game to spend $59.99 when it was released.
Pros:
1) Graphics: it is not the best game out there in this department, but it is good enough considering it was the first game released.
2) Story: it is interesting enough to follow without getting bored. Good final.
3) Cutscenes: most of the cutscenes were good. Good to follow the story.
Cons:
1) Unbalance: It is very easy in Soldier. But it gets really difficult in certain bosses because you won't master any technique due to it is not necessary through the game. So when a boss fight is there, you need to master something you never practice. That's why it is unbalanced. You master techniques because, you have to try multiples tens of times to beat the last boss.
2) Repetitive: great game, but you have to repeat the same things tens to time. It is frustrating spend hours doing the same thing over a over. Story and cutscenes offset this situation.
For the price now, it can be played. If you find it a $7.99 or so, buy it and enjoy it. It is not as bad as reviews entitled but it deserves to be play, specially at this price point. Bear in mind that it is a several years old game. Nothing will impress you.
