RTS of the year without a doubt!
If games such as Starcraft 2 can be rated 10/10 then RUSE requires 12/10. Simply put this game is one of the best if not THE best RTS ive ever played and I have played a lot!
It is what's known as a Macro RTS and not a Micro RTS meaning you play around with building placement and unit selection rather than the latter being focussing solely on units. That being said there are quite a few different buildings to place and where you place them can be just as important as what units you get from inside (theres nothing worse than having your whole base blasted by bombers because you built everything next to eachother (my favourite tactic :) )).
The game is very deep and complex and yet simple and easy at the same time. The hardest part of the game will be the ability of the opponent. As stated in many other reviews having 1 strategy will not win you the game time and time over. I have faced opponents who have killed me in less than 5 minutes while others have had the reverse. Some have tried to rush me and ive expected it and as such their plan has completely failed. Its all down to the choices and abilities you use.
I really cant stress how great and fun this game is. Ive been on it for 8 hours straight and my eyes are burning yet I know full well that after I submit this im going to load it back up.
Just as a side note, the demo was a VERY poor illustration of how fun this game is in Skirmish and online. I wasnt hugely impressed with the demo and didnt expect much of the full release. I can tell you the full game is far, far better.
