Runescape Online Review

Runescape is an incredible game. It really sucks you into a whole other world, where you become completely immersed. In Runescape, you create your character, designing his clothes, hair and face. You start at Level 3 in this new world. To achieve levels, you must increase your stats. For example, to increase your wood-cutting skills you must cut down trees, by purchasing an axe at the general store. To increase combat stats, such as attack and defence you must go out and kill the beasts nearby. Once you get better with your combat levels you can challenge other online players to fights. You can use magic to fight them with spells that you must cast, you can use sword and shield, or you can fight using archery, sniping them from a distance. Combat and increasing levels–baking, fishing, etc.–is an absolute blast, and gaining money from selling items you earn, can get you armour and clothing you can dress your player in. applying armour will help you when fighting other players or the CPU beasts.
But gaining levels, and killing things isn't the only thrills of Runescape. Being in a world where you can trade with people, add them as friends, go out to other cities to challenge people in fights, or just explore, is amazing. This whole world is huge, and exploring it while killing people and beasts along the way is highly recommended. There are also important buildings in this world that you can visit, such as the grand exchange where you can trade your items for money and buy armour or potions.
The only downside is that it can get a bit laggy, and if you want to marvel at it's HD setting, you will experience a lot of that. However, if you go to normal resolution, the problem should be fixed, although the world will not look as great. Also, although increasing stats and levels for your character is fun, it can be repetitive. With woodcutting and fishing, you just run out cut down a some trees-or catch some fish–and run back and sell them or put them in your Bank. And you keep doing this over and over, until you level up, which can get frustrating because it takes a loooonnnng time to level up, and when you are doing the same thing over and over, it can really anger you. However, other skills like baking, where you must collect ingrediens, put them in the over, mix them together, is fun. Eating your food gives you a burst of health in a battle, and the better you cook your food, the more health you get.
And lastly, you can do quests, where someone asks you to go out and collect some items for them, then you come back with them. Some are tricky (one where you have to kill a level 83 dragon that is guarding the item you need, and one where you need to destroy an army of ogres to get another item you need.) These quests are O.K, and add some more playing time to your adventure.
All in all, Runescape is an addictive game. Levelling up, and increasing your characters stats is extremely fun, with the exception of a few repetitive skills. Going out and killing beats and challenging people in fights is a lot of fun, and defeating people while working your way up the ranks is a great time (although the combat system is also a little repetitive.) Interacting with the world around you is also fun, and it is a blast to explore.
