Conquer an all new Frontier.

User Rating: 8 | Rune Factory Frontier WII
I'll admit I never quite enjoyed games like Rune Factory. The farm simulations and house building experiences you find in games like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon are just some examples. Frontier is the first Rune Factory game I've played and I have to say I found it pretty enjoyable. That's not to say it's without faults. Rune Factory is an open RPG though so it doesn't matter how long it takes to beat whatever you plan on conquering. If you want to just play the story you'll find yourself immersed in level grinding and forging new powerful weapons and armor. If you decide to woo the ladies you'll spend countless hours spending money to give her her favorite gift or cooking and farming for her favorite food. If that's not your cup of tea then become a expert farmer and fisherman. There's a plethora of things to do in Rune Factory. The only problem is it can get boring. As I suggested you'll be level grinding a lot, even though the payoff is great some may find it to get monotonous. The story in itself isn't really anything special and the dungeons only serve the sole purpose to level grind all the way into the 90's just to beat the final dungeon. Dating and Marriage isn't all too fun either. You'll fork over insane amounts of money and time just to please the girl your trying to get. Now while you do get 12 girls to choose from and each are different each will take the same amount of loving and gift giving to get them to marry you. There are some things that allow you to have some fun from time to time. Specific events on holidays will have you smashing watermelon, boat racing, quiz contests, and more. These are fun little time wasters, but ultimately don't do too much. But, why do I give this game such a high score? I enjoyed it. Others may not, I'm sure not everyone is in the Harvest Moon mode, but in all I thought it was great fun and I enjoyed spending 100 hours in this new frontier
