A heavily flawed game, that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I had no idea this game existed 1 year ago. I came across an ad for it in a Game Informer magazine. It didn't have any details. It only showed a picture of three creepy looking little girls, with the sentence "Sugar, and Spice, and everything Nice." hovering beneath them in bloody, cursive letters. I quickly searched for some clues on what it was about, and was intrigued.

Okay, let's go. The storyline for this game is (in my opinion) the best thing about it, and perhaps the greatest storyline I have witnessed in any video game. It is extremely subtle, and extremely hard to piece together. But dear god, when I finished most of the puzzle, I was not able to stop thinking about it for months. The storyline alone sky rockets it's overall score.

The graphics are nicely done, and provide enough realism to make you feel you are actually in the game. Some graphics however, are a bit overused.

The sound effects are definitely scary, and have spooked me a few times. Again, sometimes overused.

The music is very well done, with many violin tunes. It provides a horror atmosphere, and creepy ambiance.

The gameplay is not particularly fun, consisting of repetitive attacks, lots of running, and roundabout searching. I did not mind this at all, for the cutscenes and storyline were worth it all.

Overall, this game is better left to those who can appreciate flawed, if not awesome, pieces of art.

All together, 8/10. (Mostly storyline)
