A terribly underrated SRPG

User Rating: 8 | Itsuwari no Rinbukyoku DS
Overall-8 It's hard to believe some of the scores this game is getting from critics. The gameplay is great, the storyline is fairly enjoyable, all while introducing a lot of innovative and creative elements into a SRPG. The learning curve is fairly steep, but once you do get used to managing your army, you'll keep coming back for more.

Difficulty-Hard. This game isn't for casual players, and the difficulty can be unforgiving sometimes. (even in the tutorial) But for the people that enjoy a challenge this should be a good thing.

Graphics-8. The sprites look a bit disproportional for some units but that's probably just based on the style of the artists. Overall the animations are smooth and everything looks clean.

Gameplay- 9. This is where Rondo of Swords shines. The new innovative system they introduce in this game is fantastic. You have to run through enemies to attack them, each character has their own skills to help you, and you have to watch your moves carefully or the enemy can unleash devasting counterattacks. The system makes battles feel less repetitive and has me constantly thinking about my next move, like an intense chess game.
One annoying thing though is checking enemy ranges. It introduces more hassle than needed. Hopefully Atlus will improve on this later.

Sound- 6. Unfortunately, nothing special in this department, just a lot of repetitive tunes here and there. It does include a lot of character voices though.
