TWISTED TRIP
I've always been a fan of car combat games. Since I've always liked Twisted Metal games, I also decided to give Rogue Trip (from the same makers) a try (long time ago). It has stayed in the top three of my favorite games as long as I can remember and now I'll tell you why.

BUT HEY, GO ON A VACATION!
It is year 2012. The world is in terrible condition, but a greedy fat mob leader called Big Daddy offers tourists peaceful vacations. Big Daddy gets richer and richer all the time, but then a gang of eleven pissed off (and weird) people become auto mercenaries and start driving tourists around to harm Big Daddy's business and become richer themselves.

HELL-O-STONE AND NUKE YORK
The graphics aren't outstanding, but they are good. The vehicles look good and the scenery is varied and good-looking. There are ten different tracks in the game (not including bonus tracks, there are two of them) and they include an airport, a Hollywood-clone, Washington D.C.-clone, Area 51, atmospheric Las Vegas, a huge landscape full of hills in Rome, California's beach, Yellowstone-clone (best track in the game, by the way), Los Angeles after earthquake and apocalyptic New York. The level designs are great and imaginative and every track has special hiding places like rooftops, a moon(!), casino gaming room inside a sphinx's head, a water pool, a small mountain and a room inside a hill, for example.

CRAZY DRIVERS
The characters are wicked and you can see that the designers really wanted to make them twisted in a black humor way. There is a robot gone crazy driving a truck, a gas-masked agent driving a tank, a cyborg cowboy driving a dune buggy, a cross of Mickey Mouse and Batman driving a batmobile-clone, a fat ugly Elvis impersonator driving a Cadillac, a beauty queen driving a Camaro, a crazy escaped asylum patient driving an ambulance, a sexy nun driving a school bus, a country girl driving an airboat land vehicle, a queer former wrestler driving a Mini and a small masked cook driving a wienermobile. There are five other locked characters. They include a deformed alien baby driving a crushing steamroller, a mysterious soldier driving a helicopter, a cyborg woman driving a tank-like steel ball, a green alien flying a saucer and of course the main bad guy, Big Daddy operating a huge robot. The tourists are also humorously designed and they include, for example a fat redneck, an old spicy grandmother and an alien who claims to be a surgeon. The twisted characters definitely play a part in why I love this game so much.

GET CASH, GET ANYTHING
Playing Rogue Trip is much like playing Twisted Metal 2. You drive a vehicle, fire machine guns and special weapons like stingers, stalkers, TNT's, prowler rockets and more. The main innovation is driving the tourists around for photo-ops. That gives you money and with money you can buy health and weapons. The gameplay is really enjoyable and using the character's trademark special is fun. Every character has a trademark special which is the most damaging weapon. There are rockets, homing missiles, destructive rays, saw blades and more. Rogue Trip really is one damn enjoyable car combat game.

YOU WANT MUSTARD ON THAT?
The sounds are phenomenal. The soundtrack is made by Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The musics are great, memorable and especially XLAX's "Rascal King" is one of the greatest game songs ever! The character's voices are hilarious and the quotes, like "You want mustard on that?" by the wienermobile driver really make you smile. And who likes the Elvis impersonator's megaton roars?

ENJOYMENT FOR CAR COMBAT FANS
Rogue Trip's career makes you fight through 10 tracks and 2 bonus levels. There are 11 characters and a total of 16 if you unlock all of them, so there is lots of content in RT for car combat-hungry players.
