The difficulty goes from just right to frustratingly evil hard in some spots and the storyline tends to get a litttle over dramatic at spots. But otherwise, it's a solid game that you will play over and over again. Save for the above mentioned hyper-drama the story will suck you in from the first time you meet Simon and Steve and keep your hands glued tot he controller until you've unlocked every item, beaten every monster, and gained every level.
For perfect 100% completion you're looking at 125 - 150 hours+ of gameplay.
If you just wanna see the story and ignore everything else, it's probably only about 50 hours.
This gets a 9.5 for solid gameplay and an immersive story, the only thing keeping this from perfect 10 is the length of some of the boss battles and the difficulty track with said battles. And also for the sometimes sappy, overdramatic story tinges which some might say never needed to be there.
