Rocky: Legends on Xbox is a really great follow-up to the hit 2002 classic.

Intro:

Rocky: Legends is the 2004 follow-up to the 2002 hit video game "Rocky" and it comes packed with: Rocky's memorable storyline again, as well as a look at some of his opponents stories and updated graphics and game play.

Now, let's look into it!

Game play:

After the awesome new intro opening, we get right into the game play. The thing that made the first Rocky game fast-paced was the awesome punching physics, here it's been revamped a bit and let me just say, while good, feels pretty slow when compared to the game's predecessor. I recommend you use "Novice" difficulty during the game, because the other two modes are just insanely hard to get through. Besides the memorable "Gonna Fly Now", there's some new musical "Rocky" tunes thrown into the game like: Training Montage, War, Going the Distance and more.. They all add up to a great soundtrack for the game. Besides the "Italian Stallion's" already memorable storyline we all know and love, we get some back stories with: Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago and they are unlockable from the extras menu. As for Tommy Gunn, he is instead served for the street fight stage in "Rocky's" storyline and he is unlockable as well. Another new feature is earning Money, you need to save up as much Money as you can to unlock lots of goodies. You earn Money by finishing off your opponent through each boxing match in the game's story mode.

Graphics:

Right away you can tell there's updated detail in the game's graphics and visuals. They look as fantastic as they were before. The new slow-motion replay is a real beaut to look at. There's even new locations to admire, for example: the MGM grand, Philadelphia docks, Downtown New York and more.

Controls:

Left Joystick to move. A and B for lower punches. X and Y for upper-punches. There's even some combos to pull off.

Music and Sound:

I already explained the awesome soundtrack, the sound effects are just as great.

Lasting Appeal:

The slow punching physics made the pacing pretty slow, but everything else definitely satisfied me. Rocky: Legends does exactly what a sequel should do and I really enjoyed the new goodies it threw at me. 9.9 out of 10.
