really great game

This is so much improved from the old version. It has almost no lag, you hit a note and it plays pretty instantly. The new stuff, which I have only scratched the surface of, is a lot in itself. But the real reason we play if to get our favorite song and play along. It works well. Sometimes it starts a bit too easy and takes a couple runs through to get enough notes to play along and be fun. I am not sure if you can jump ahead but if you do start playing more, it does seem to increase quicker. One of the games is much like guitar hero, much faster and you have to really know the songs to get through, I am not good enough to not get booed yet, but it only just came out. I haven't played the bass yet, but guitar sounds pretty good on all the songs I have played. The session, you build your own band and it is AI, so it will follow your lead. You set up everything, the instruments, they sound they play, you can even add a kazoo if you want to. I have played a couple quick sessions and it works pretty well, but only have used like 2 bass and one drum set so far, and a keyboard. If you play guitar, or want to learn, this is a great game. I got it (supposedly) for my daughter to learn guitar (she has only been able to watch me so far!!) But we had the first one and it was so buggy and laggy, it was hard to play along and wasn't nearly as nice as this. I think she will be able to pick up some stuff quickly. Also, what is really nice, if you hit a section in the song you need to work on, you hit the space bar and it will repeat that section until you reset the song. Its nice when you get a complicated part and need a few runs through to get down. I would give this a 10, its good enough, but I am a tough grader and can always think of a few things that can be improved. I would go 9.5 on this though. If you have the old songs, you can play them too, and they seem to be improved though the software, though they seem to go a bit slower as far as adding on more complexity. Maybe its just the songs I played so far. If you are thinking about it, do it. It is worth buying. If you have a decent guitar, it will help. I busted a string on my les paul and have been playing my old westone, which isn't terrible but it chews up your fingers after several hours of playing. I haven't played this long in years.
