Darn that coyote! When will he ever learn?
GAMEPLAY:(8/10)That darn Coyote is still after you and the only thing you have to do in each level is watch out for the coyote and succesfully finish the stage.There are a lot of levels in RRDVR and they are all hard,so don't take this game lightly.In each level Wily Coyote has some new gadget to destory you with so while beating the level you always have to be cautious when playing.There are power ups in the game to help out Road Runner such as bird seed to restore health and some other item(can't remember)that makes you invincible.As in the cartoons Road Runners speed is his best characteristic and while speedily going across desert canyons it is very easy to die in this game.And there's no memory cards so you have to start from where you last died while the game is still on.There are flags that help you do this.That's basically the gameplay.It is a very fun side scrolling action game.
GRAPHICS:(5/10)They are average.They do't show too much background and the characters look bad.The scenery however sticks to the cartoon series and the gadgets that Wily has look really nice.Sunsoft,the creators of RRDVR,used a lot of colors too making the game look nicer.
CONTROLS:(6/10)Road Runner goes way too fast and it's very hard to control him once you get him started.The buttons are kind of confusing at first,but once you play enough you'll get the hang of it.The controls could've been done much better.
MUSIC/SOUND:(8/10)The music was clear,but got annoying very fast.The sound FXs,however,are pretty good.You can hear bonks boings and other cartoonish sounds.Not all the music gets annoying,but only a few.
REPLAY:(5/10)There are a lot of levels and there aren't any secrets,so whether you play it or not is up to you.I haven't even beaten the game yet.
OVERALL:(7/10)Road Runner:Death Valley Rally is an OK game and I suggest a rental instead of purchasing it.I liked this game a lot,but it isn't the best Looney Toon based game on the SNES,just a very good one.
