This game is a lot like AoE, but introduces interested civilization building features which only improve the game.

This game is great. It may be very similar to Age of Empires, but Rise of Nations has some features which set it apart. Particularly, RoN introduces almost Civilization like features: territory, more advanced economics, an innovative approach to research and advancement, etc.

The game also offers several different modes of play, including the Conquer the World mode which is similar to Star Wars: Empires at War.

I'm very excited about the prospect of playing this game on a LAN.

If you like Age of Empires, Civilization, Star Wars: Empires at War, or similar games, then I am sure that Rise of Nations will probably pique your interest.
