Still the best rally sim out there! Unforgiving and immensely satisfying, this sim demands loyalty and concentration.

I love, love, LOVE racing sims! I am absolute muddy udders at most of them, but better than your average controller-hugging NFS freak or keyboard car-king. This particular sim is one I come back to over and over again when I really need a good, fast, challenging drive that feels like actual... driving and not some "I can turn this 90 degree corner at 140Mph and just skid a bit" rubbish.

You see, the thing about Richard Burns Rally, is that it has a steep learning curve and you HAVE to have a wheel if you want the true driving experience, I can't stress that enough!! If you hook up one of the modded versions of RBR to a big screen and a wheel + pedal set, you have yourself a frustratingly accurate sim that will have you restarting the course over and over and over again to improve each corner, each sector time and every crest of every peak! It's a game that is so accurate in it's simulation, that you just don't care about the fact it looks a bit dated, you are not there to look at the fluffy bunnies or cardboard spectators, you are there to drive and FOOK does if feel good when you finally do it right!

Cockpit view is a must and really immerses you in the driving - I've had many a session where I have hit all the apexes right after a frustrating hour of getting everything wrong for the first half of the race and, when I get near the end of the track, my heart is racing so much, due to the fear of ballsing it all up, that I roll the car at the last bend and have to do it all again... but I do, cause I was SO CLOSE!

If you want to play this game, pick up a "cheap" copy somewhere, get the latest RSRBR, your wheel and your projector or widescreen and blaze away! You won't be disappointed. It might not look like Dirt, but it plays true and hard!

Love love love this game :-)
