Ok, so it has no real cars, and no real tracks, and no licences.....but that doesn't keep it from being the best racing game to date.

The lack of licences is more then made up for by the huge modding community behind the game, bringing out new mods faster than you can play em.

The game is only out far half a year or so, and there's allready mods for official GP2, F3, Porsche Carrerra Cup, Stock Cars, Indycars, Supercarts, Australian V8, Trucks, even a dune buggy mod. Several F1 2005 season mods are in the making and some nearly completed, with beta's allready released. Try googling for screens, you'll surely find some that'll pop out your eyes. And since Sony bought the rights for the next 2 seasons of F1, there no chance of anything official F1 coming to any other platform than PS3 the coming 2 years.

Unlike the guy in the previous review said, it supports dx9 technology, not only dx8. It runs perfectly fine on my pc (p4 2.8, 1gb ram, 9600pro) on a res of 1024x768, AAx2 ,AFx8....prolly 50 - 60fps....and it looks gorgeous. Snap some high res skies off an rFactorsite and watch a racesim like no other.

Speaking off circuits and tracks....there's allready a dazzling amount of converted tracks from previous racesims...from every F1 circuit to even smaller lesser known circuits and ovals.

The physics, based on the new Gmotor 2 technology, are unmatched in any previous racing game or sim. And the setup possibilities are huge, but can also be done in a very basic way, for the not so hardcore racers. Simple 2-way sliders for suspension, brakes, etc...like found in most racers with a minimum of depth.

Playing with a force feedback wheel obviously adds a dimension to the game, but it's just as good playable with a dual analog gamepad, using the right stick for throttle and brakes.

The sound off the game is also incredibly immersive...but only in the cockpit view, the external cameras give kind of a dull sound, like the car were 2 blocks away. The menu music coudv'e been better, but hey, it's a racing game right...so lets just race...i know that's what i'm gonna do now.
