Wasn't expecting much, but my favorite FPS that I have played this year... ahead of Killzone 2 and Resistance 2.
Plugged it in, not to impressed with the 2006 gfx, but lo and behold an hour or so in, the game grabs me by the cajones and doesn't let go until the final cut scene.
This is a darn good fps. The battles are intense and diverse. You have the claustrophobic tunnel sweeps to the wide open battlefield engagements that involve Crawlers, Goliaths, and Chimeran ground pounders.
The weapons sound and work great. And because of the different situations you face you will make full use of the full range of guns at your disposal.
I really like the alternate history this game is set in. An alien infested Europe with the UK being the last strong hold on the continent.
Kudos to Insomnia for an incredible and immersive shooter.
