Resistance is a solid handheld shooter that leaves gamers coming back for more.

User Rating: 8.5 | Resistance: America Saigo no Teikou VITA
Resistance: Burning Skies for the Vita was a surprisingly enjoyable experience. When I first loaded up the game I noticed how quick the loadtimes were, especially when you re-spawned and the game could quickly load back to your checkpoint. As for the controls the analog sticks on the Vita were both precise in movement and aiming; Riley is able to perform satisfying headshots effortlessly and quickly. The touch screens were utilized creatively- you could easily throw a grenade with one flick of a finger and if in a scramble and you needed to split, just double tap on the back of your vita and Riley sprints off.
The graphics were a little disappointing and pretty much bland. Unfortunately I was expecting much more in this category since the Vita has such high graphical capabilities (for ex. as seen in Uncharted). The sounds were also lacking, the weapons sounded like little firecrackers going off rather then the realistic effects in the console versions. The story was average, I kinda enjoyed the cheesy voice acting and also liked discovering intel and powerups. Both are scattered around certain areas- intel gave much more depth and background to the main storyline and the powerups (although some of them seemed alike) boosted your weapons abilities. Although you can only use two powerups on each weapon, that varied the experience for me and pushed me to find as many I could in the level. The game is rather short but still gratifying and has multiplayer for the after experience. Honestly it's also probably the easiest game you can get the platinum trophy in too.

I recommended this game to anybody who wants a fun yet solid fps with innovative and intuitive touch controls. So in conclusion I give this game a 8.5/10. Thanks for reading :)
