Resistance 3 caps off one of the greatest trilogies in fps history.
Resistance 3 blows its predecessor out of the window. Superior weaponry, an overall better campaign, and a tighter online experience make it one of the best fps games in a long while.
Joseph Capelli takes over from Nathan Hale (the hero of Resistance 2) and living underground hasn't gone too well. The resistance fighters are losing hope of surviving. That all changes when Dr. Malikov seeks out Capelli with an ultimatum to shut down the tower in New York or everyone will die.
The campaign is a stirring mix of action and tension. The first half is all action as you are introduced to new types of Chimera and weaponry. The second half is mostly tension filled.
This makes for a brilliant campaign that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Add to that the ability to play online co-op is a nice addition.
The online multiplayer now has 8 v 8 battles and this makes for a tighter experience.
Resistance 3 is proof that you don't have to make annual rehashes to win over the fps crowd. Better to stick with your (own) winning formula and you'll achieve greatness the likes of which others will envy.
