Mr. J's Mini Resident Evil: DC Review!

User Rating: 10 | Resident Evil: Director's Cut PS
Tonight I decided to do a mini review of one of my all time favorite video games. One I most certainly have in my own collection, and every sequel that followed it. Resident Evil: Directors Cut. If you want to talk about horror games, this is where you start. This is pretty much where it ALL started. Resident Evil was one of the first games of its kind, if not THE first. It was a survival horror game where you got the choice to play as either Chris Redfield for hard mode, or Jill Valentine for easy mode. The cool thing was, each of their stories differed very slightly, so it made it just as interesting to replay it after finishing as the other character. After you picked which character you wished to play as, it opened with this live action scene of the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team making their way to this creepy mansion, which ended up being where the majority of the rest of the game took place. The mansion is filled with all sorts of puzzles, secrets, and locked doors to play through while trying to figure out what happened to the lost Bravo team. When you finally find the members of the Bravo team, it isn't normally a pretty sight as the mansion is also filled with zombies, cerberus (zombie dogs), giant spiders, and tons of other Bio-mutated creatures created by the evil Umbrella Corp. The graphics are of course not all that great, but the amazing story and game play value are way high enough to make you entirely forget about a silly little thing like graphics. This is one of my favorite games ever, and definitely the best one of the entire series. Even today the original Resident Evil is one of the most pricey, and hard to find ps1 games, because it was just that good. I almost wish Capcom would make the new Resident Evil games more like this masterpiece. If you don't have this in your collection and/or you've never played it, buy it NOW. Without a doubt 10/10 Be sure to follow me on Instagram for daily old school reviews @Mr_Jgamez and for updates on the newer games I'm currently playing follow my twitter @Mr_Jgamez
