This game can only be classified as excellent and beautiful!

User Rating: 9.4 | Resident Evil Code: Veronica X PS2
Gameplay: This game plays like all of the other Resident Evils with the exception of Resident Evil 4. Overall, the controls and gameplay are very good on this game with a few exceptions as well. Although it is a game for the PS2, the analog stick is just plain dreadful to use. Once you do get used to using the directional pad, it is similar to riding a bike whereas you will never forget. I will talk more about the storyline later.

Graphics: Seeing that this game was one of the first out for the PS2 and it being a port from the Dreamcast, it is fairly good. It is the first of the Resident Evil games to break away from the standard pre-rendered backrounds also, so we must give it credit there too. The characters have improved drastically and it is definitely a Resident Evil game to be remembered for all of these changes it has made (the only other canon Resident Evil to not have pre-rendered backrounds is Resident Evil 4).

Sound: This game has, by far, the best musical score out of any Resident Evil game to date. It has a variety of sounds in the game and even the voice acting isn't that bad (except for Alfred and his horrible goat-like laughter). Even Steve's voice acting didn't bother me. In fact, he did a very good job at playing an immature teen.

Value: This game has a few bonus materials in it. First off is the infamous Battle Game, which is a minigame where you go through various places in Resident Evil and fight different enemies. It has multiple characters you can play as (even Wesker!!!) and you can also play in First Person Mode. This game is one you will want to play over and over because of its memorable cutscenes.

Reviewer's Tilt: This a GREAT game!!! I believe that this Resident Evil game has the greatest storyline of all the games. It may not excel in gameplay, but it was a game that sticks in your memory and you look back and say "This was such a great game". It starts out very slow, but by the time Chris comes, it really begins to speed up. The cutscene of the battle between Wesker and Alexia's first form is a must see (the greatest cutscene ever in my opinion).
