Not bad at all. Reviews are way too harsh. Not "horror" at all and is driven solely by the story.

I loved the intro and how before I even got to a Main Menu they were teaching me the new controls. I've played the newer, non tank controlled games like RE4 and RE5 so I had an idea of how things worked but the new move while shooting incorporation certainly put me off at first. I don't know what it was, it just didn't feel right for me and was pissing me off. After finally getting comfortable with it during the brief intro and racing "to da choppa" I was pretty intrigued. I wanted to know how this Asian city had been overrun with zombies, who was this chick with Leon and where the heck is Chris.

Anyways, after playing through all four of the campaigns I must say I'm impressed and at the same time disappointed. So let's talk about the things that impressed me first:

1)The story. It was a little out there, yea, but in the end it was a good twist. It introduced a new bigger foe in "Neo-Umbrella" and was told in a unique way that you need to play all 4 of the campaigns in order to grasp all of it.

2)The character selection. The ability to play through the story with 7 different characters was pretty cool to me. There as places where you split and it was nice playing through that.

3)The length. I don't know about you guys but I'm getting sick of these games that are only a three hours of game play in the campaign. Yes, I love my online play but I do enjoy a good long quality story based single player. RE6 hits that on the head for sure.

4)Leon's campaign. ZOMBIES! Finally, back to zombies. No more Las Plagas and all that nonsense. Leon finally brings you back to mayhem on the streets with the walking dead everywhere for a little while. He even comments about how it reminds him of Raccoon City a few times.

And with the good also games some bad. So here are some of the things I wasn't overly fond of:

1)Ammo, ammo and more ammo. Much in the way that RE5 did, this game embraced the COD way of doing things and made this a big shooter. What ever happened to the limited ammo. That was one of the things that made RE so great: the need to ration your ammo. Not in RE6. Oh, you need handgun ammo? Here, here's 50 rounds for breaking these 3 barrels, go have fun, oh and if you need more there's 5 more barrels over there.

2)So very very linear. If you enjoyed the roaming about in RE, RE2, RE3 and RE 4 then dream on. There is no going back. Oh, you missed that emblem? PLAY AGAIN. I'm not really 100% opposed to the linearity of the game, I just think RE was valued for being fairly open world.

3)Graphics. This isn't much of a bother for me really either. They aren't anything to gawk at, even during the many many many cut scenes, but they aren't terrible. Because of how much they had to put on the disc I'm not surprised that didn't go all out on some things, but there were a few scenes where you can tell they did bare minimum on programming, ex: when Ada is first flying the helicopter into the city the cars are literally boxes.

4)Characters. Of course I like Leon, Chris, and Ada. The other four, not so much. Piers was alright, but that role could have easily have been replaced by Jill and gotten an applause from me. I find it weird that Jill wouldn't be the one to bring him out of a drunken stupor. Helena was just kind of "meh". I don't dislike her but she'll probably turn into another Sheva and never be heard from again. As for Sherry and Jake. Jake....that just seems so improvable. His father was never portrayed as the type to have a kid. Sherry was pointless. Why not make it Claire who finds him? We haven't heard from her in forever.

All in all it's a good game. If you're looking into this game for the story, then this is for you. If you're looking for a "horror" game then look elsewhere. It's obvious Capcom has decided to make RE less about the scary and more about the elaborate stories and trying to tap into the shooter market that is all the rage these days. The negative reviews given for this game DO NOT reflect it's real nature. Most of the hate for this game is from over the top RE fans that were looking for a way to hate the game from the get go.
