Falls short in the shadow of Resident evil 4.

User Rating: 8 | Resident Evil 5 X360
The fifth installment in the core resident evil series takes the long running franchise to a sunnier climate as it is based entirely in Western Africa.
The controls for resident evil 5 remain largely unchanged from the previous installment and the stop to shoot mechanic is still very much there which as usual helps to give a feeling of suspense whilst at the same time feeling fairly dated.
The location of Resident evil 5 is very different from any other previous installment and whilst still very tense it does lose some of its charm mainly due to the fact that it is too bright.
The game really shines when played in 2 player co-op but the ai partner in single player just seems broken and is little more than a glorified item mule who can be a burden if you are not careful.

For all of its flaws however resident evil 5 is a solid experience that longtime fans of the series(especially RE4)will enjoy but I cannot help but think that the previous installment was just noticeably superior.
