Good Action Game, Bad Horror Game

If you are expecting to find a game that invokes the tension felt in horror games such as dead space, or RE4, please do yourself a favor and pass this game. Although RE5 is a mediocre horror game it shows its true promise as simply a third person action shooter. Treasure hunting and gun upgrades are as fun as they were in RE4. There is just no real fear while playing. The dynamics of the controls are approached different in RE5 versus RE4 are approached differently. In RE4 the slow moving, limited controls you are given help add to the helplessness, the vulnerability of the protagonist. In RE5 they are merely hinderances that make you take that much longer to blow something up. Although RE5 is not a bad game in any means, it does not represent the horror that its predecessors had brought so well. You like a third person action and like killing zombies (who doesn't?) give the game a try, if you loved RE4 to death and expect nothing less than that caliber of horror, do yourself a favor and pass.
