Resident evil 4 was part of a genre of games i long avoided because its previous game like RE2, etc. had lousy graphics and terrible controls acompanied with horrible camera angles. All these problems are gone w/ RE4. RE4 is simply the greatest horror game i have ever played. I wont ruin the plot but i will say this story takes place in a remote location in europe (probably spain because some of your more common enemies speak spanish while the rest speak english). You play Leon who was originally in RE2, and dont worry they explain his back story a little through out the game. Anyway he is looking for the presidents daughter Ashley (of the U.S.)who was kidnaped by a mysterious group. As soon as you arrive in their remote village no one greets you very well, and so you must kill anyone who gets in your way to find Ashley. Along this very very long single player game you encounter multiple bosses, horribly frightening creatures, and you learn more about these people as you go along.
As for gamplay: Camera angle is a behind the shoulder view and i know it sounds wierd but trust me is isn't bad at all. You must aim your gun by holding the R1 button and shoot with x. But you can't move around and shoot, you must stand still while shooting which is perpously done to make it so your enemies slow to medium speed can keep up with you. After all it would be too easy to run and shoot at the same time. But this style of stationary shooting isn't bad at all and its a necessary balancing aspect of the game. And the ps2 version comes w/ extras once you beat the game in 18 to 30 hours, including extra side story's from other characters point of view who you will encounter throughout the game as Leon. Plus there is mercenary mode which allows you to choose you character and location and then you must kill as many bad guys before time runs out(which is just fun chalenging quick action). You'll need a memory card to save everything though. But seriously buy this games you wont regret it.
