One of the best Resident Evil games

User Rating: 9 | Resident Evil 2 (UK) PS
This Resident Evil is quite possibly the most difficult and challenging as well as one of the most memorable. It makes so many advances from the first game including expanded inventory, stronger knife, more enemies, requires more strategical thinking, better voice acting, and has a more compelling story. The concept is the same as the first, you are trapped in a city with zombies and must collect items and keys to progress, and you encounter zombies/monsters on the way. Ammo is very limited, although the game does feed you more ammo than the first, you need the extra ammo since this game has more zombies per room than the first. You get a decent variety of weapons and the game is pretty big despite how old it is. The true reason this game is as popular in the series is because it is absolutely true to its genre. Unlike RE1, this game features more enemies and unlockables/modes, and unlike RE3 you can play through 2 different story modes as 2 different characters, and unlike Code Veronica, it doesn't feel as linear where you basically move from point a to b as well as given a buttload of ammo, and of course is a completely different concept from RE4 and 5. There are plenty of areas and you can play two different scenarios which add different placement of items and enemies, as well as include a few fun surprises that make the game more challenging. The storyline keeps the creepiness and sense of lost hope, and at the same time adds more characters who add to the pyschoticism.

In short, this Resident Evil offers the most and is the best of its series for sticking true to its genres. Plus the dualshock version features even more extra modes and the unlockables are solid. I prefer this game over any other Resident Evil just because of this. Do yourself a favor and get this if you haven't played it, it is worth the challenge and includes much more than you pay for.
