Reservoir Dogs for Ps2 is a surprisingly great title for, say "Grand Theft Auto'' type players.

User Rating: 10 | Reservoir Dogs PS2

Intro:

Based off the 1992 Quentin Tarantino hit film, you participate in a bank heist. Somehow it backfires and you must gather a round of clues to figure out the culprit responsible for such a drawback.

Game play:

Similar in a way to the "Grand Theft Auto'' series, you have a shoot 'em up combined with the use of a third-person perspective. Little to few things have been added to the game play that hasn't been used before in GTA, like: holding hostages, collecting evidence folders and a slow-motion, bullet-time effect called "adrenaline''. The gang has their own signature move when using this effect, which in turn, is cool to look at. The game has three different endings: Psycho, Carrer-Criminal and Professional, depending on how you've done throughout the game, leading to the fate of Mr. Pink.

Graphics:

We got Michael Madsen in his respective role as "Mr. Blonde''. As with the rest of the characters (Joe Cabot, Mr. Brown, Mr. White, Nice Guy Eddie, Mr. Blue, Mr. Orange and Mr. Pink), they aren't really all that horrible and are voiced decent throughout the game. Environments look tremendous. Lighting, shooting and explosion visuals are great.

Music and Sound:

Features the signature "Super Sounds of the Seventies'' by K-Billy. The song "Little Green Bag'' performed by "The George Baker Selection'' sets the tone perfectly for this game, which sounds very familiar to "I'd Die'' performed by "Widget'' which was featured in the 2000 parody film "Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th''.

Controls:

Left Analog Stick for moving your character. L3 for crouching. D-pad for switching weapons. L1 for auto-aim. R1 for shooting. X for reloading. Square for taking cover. Triangle for "adrenaline''. Right analog stick for aiming.

Lasting Appeal:

I was surprised at how well it followed the movie, as with some film-based game adaptions. It was as fun as playing "Grand Theft Auto'' and it's one of the best PlayStation 2 games I've played, along with "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas'' and "The Matrix: Path of Neo''. 10 out of 10.
