Best free MMORPG game I have played.

User Rating: 8.5 | Requiem: Bloodymare PC
From the moment you download and install the client, you can tell that this game is for a mature audience. The log in screen is the best I have seen for a free MMO RPG. Once you login to your account that you can create for free at http://www.playrequiem.com/index.aspx you are given a choice of three servers to choose, then to create your character. Given that there are only three races in the game, it's pretty clear that the developers were going with the normal cast of races with a nightmarish twist.

The first race you are presented with is the Turan, which is the human race. The humans are more or less the same from each and every RPG I have played - the average, well-rounded character. Te second choice you have, my favourite, is the Bartuk. This race is your standard Orc race which have all brawn and little magic. The last class is the Kruxena, which are more or less your standard elf race - all magic and little brawn.

Once you create your character - which, by the way, each race has one warrior and one mage, so to speak - you are asked to enter a personal pin to lock your character from anyone else using it. After this is done, a very brief load time is presented and then you are on your way.

Once you begin the game, you are given a very brief overview of the basic controls and interface. It took me just a few minutes to understand that right-clicking on objects interacted with them, while double left-clicking on creatures fought with them if you were in close enough proximity for your weapon.

The quests in the game are pretty simple - deliver this here, and hunt for these there, kill this many creatures for that item, etc. - but it keeps you entertained by having different areas for different enemies. The first "return" point starts off at level 1-6 creatures, then each area escalates from there.

All-in-all, I believe that this games could be a very under appreciated game if someone does not lift it on a pedestal and speak up about it. There are already a lot of people playing the game, and it was officially launched on the 19th of June, 2008, so you can expect there to be people in the game who were in the exact same predicament you are if you find yourself playing Requiem: Bloodymare and are not sure what to do or where to go. Just type in a message of help, and one of the many users will be happy to help you out.
