I just can't stop playing this mess, it has so many problems and still, it is one of the best fps's that I ever played

User Rating: 7 | Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad PC
Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is an total mess, the game is poorly optimized, there are a lot of glitches and bugs, etc.But I can't stop playing it, because when all the mechanics and the gameplay elements work correctly, this game is amazing.

Story:
Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad campaign is an total mess, the A.I is an disaster, the game looses the realism with constant graphical glitches and game crashing bugs and error's and, believe it or not, I wasted at least one hour to complete the tutorial, and why did I waste so many time? Because it glitched every time I tried to complete it, it even glitched while reloading a gun... At least the story is historically correct and does an decent job preparing the player to the multiplayer.

Positive:
. Prepares the player to the multiplayer battles;
. Historically accurate;
. Great sense of realism;
. Good Cut-scenes with a good narration;

Negative:
. Campaign filled with Bugs and Glitches;
. The A.I is not that good;
. The experience might get interrupted by constant Glitches and Bugs;

Multiplayer:
This is the area where Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad really shines, Red Orchestra 2 multiplayer is an piece of broken art, sometimes is very realistic and enjoyable to play, other times it's buggy and frustrating. Red Orchestra 2 is an great multiplayer experience, the sense of realism in the movement and guns is superb, the game creates an unique type of fear, it makes the player think before making anything. The cover mechanic is an awesome mechanic that works well with the game and adds more realism. One thing must be said, this game is not for everyone, if you love Call of Duty or Battlefield, you will hate this game but, if you love Arma 2 or Operation Flashpoint, this game is perfect for you. The maps are huge and very detailed, each maps offers different characters and tactic's and this is great switch of pacing between games. How can this experience fail? With game breaking Glitches and Bugs and terrible optimized graphics.It's sad, but after so much since it has been released, this game still feel's a bit rushed...

Positive:
. Authentic and Realistic;
. Immersive and highly addictive;
. Huge level of details on the maps;

Negative:
. A lot of game breakers Glitches and Bugs;
. Terribly optimized graphics

Graphics and Sound Design:
Like I said before, this game is poorly optimized, but if you have an decent gaming rig, you can get clean and detailed graphics. The sound design is also great, every gun shoot feels authentic and realistic.

Overall, Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is an amazing multiplayer experience, but only when it's free of Bugs and Glitches. To bad that the game suffers from heavy game breakers that may drag out the experience. If the developer's had more time to polish the game, I would give an 8.0 out of 10, but with such an poor campaign, Glitches and Bugs, I can't give out more than a 7.0 out of 10.
