Better Red Then Dead
The Game uses a new technology called Geo Mod 2.0 which is on of the coolest things I have seen. This Engine allows you to destroy pretty much every man-made structure. Once you destroy the building enough, the stress system will go into effect and make the building fall to the ground in very relistic ways. This helps a lot when you are fighting tons of EDF that are sent to kill you.
That brings us to the gameplay/missions. The main objective of the game is to liberate all of mars' 6 sectors that are controlled by the EDF. The gameplay in my opinion is very smooth and works very well but i took 2 points off of challenge because instead of making the EDF use many other tactics to kill you, they just send more and more after you. Some of the more challenging things are the demolition master missions. These you find spread out through mars and require you to destroy a building in a certain amount of time sometimes with limited ammo. They are very hard sometimes but are a lot of fun.
This game features a lot of fun weapons and veichles. The weapons of the EDF are very hightech and powerful while the Red Factions' weapons are all made from scraps and various parts of other things. The scraps in the game are reffered to as salvage, which you can pick up after destroying a building and completeing missions.
MULTIPLAYER
The multiplayer in Red Faction: Guerilla is one of the better online games i have ever played. Thats coming from a guy who has played many games ranging from Halo3, COD4, and even Gears Of War 2. Compared to all thoose games, I think that this game lags the least and has the most consistency. There is around 18 weapons in the online modes and 10 backpacks, all which give you a certain ability like healing or cloaking and even a JETPACK!!! There are also 6 different game modes online, Anarchy/Team Anarchy (Death Match) Damage Control (Think Territories or King of the Hill from Halo), Capture the Flag, Demolition (One destroyer destroys the buildings on the map for points) and Siege (You have to protect your buildings while the attacking team tries to destroy it). These maps are all played on the 21 maps...thats right 21 MAPS!!!
Alltogether I give this game a 5star rating and it enters my top 3 games with Halo 3 and Gears Of War 2. I think this is a definite buy if your even interested at all. You wont be dissapointed with this quality game by Volition. Also, because its by volition, you can expect some things from saints row 2 to be in the game.
