Incredible destructible fun.

User Rating: 8.5 | Red Faction: Guerrilla PC
Red Faction Guerrilla is my favourite game to just have fun. Since every single thing in the game is destructible, you can spend hours and hours just blowing stuff up.

Story. The game's story is virtually nonexistent. It's basically, you have come to Mars for a new life. Your brother was killed by the EDF. Go f*** them up. Not a lot here.

Single Player. The single player in this game will easily last you 20 hours or more, as there are loads of (104 to be exact) geurilla actions (transporter - driving a vehicle to a safehouse in a time limit, destruction (forget exactly what it's called) - blow stuff up, House Arrest - free hostages from the EDF, and control something or other - kill all EDF dudes in an area), and 20 main story missions. They can be challenging, but for the most part are just right. After you're done you can just go around and complete any of the old Guerilla actions, or just blow stuff up.

Multiplayer. There are a few modes, Anarchy (free-for-all), Team Anarchy (team deathmatch), Capture the Flag, Siege, Demolition and Damage Control. They are all as they sound. Everyone starts off with preset weapons (usually an assault rifle and hammer), and it's usually a rush to get to the good weapons and backpacks. The backpacks give you special abilities, like regenerating health faster, being able to plow through buildings, a jetpack and more. The matches aren't always balanced (like when the whole other team gets rocket launchers and jetpacks), but they are usually fun.

Graphics. The game has pretty decent graphics, especially for the size of its world. Imagine there are six sectors, each about the size of the middle island in GTA IV. As you can probably imagine, some textures are blurry up close, some even worse. But the character models are great, and the explosions and destruction even better. That's the best bit about this game; you can destroy almost anything - buildings, bridges, smokestacks, signs. Occasionally you will see a massive building held up by nothing but a ladder, but these occasions are rare.

Pros
- Destrucion
- Looooooong single player
- fun multiplayer
- Huge world

Cons
- World seems a bit too empty
- Graphics can be occasionally dodgy
- Occasionally frustrating (both SP and MP)
