Rayman is a one of a kind game. I will give you that. One of the best platformers.
The story is told to you buy badly named "magician" in the intro scene in all versions. The games objective, to defeat goons corrupted by Mister Dark save the electoons that help the protoon gain power (ALL OF THEM) and beat Mister Dark.
So seems simple right? No. The game is very hard and has a very interesting learning curve and random difficulty spikes. The game however is designed really well. You will get pulled into each area. Jungle area, Band land Area, the Cave area. Each area has tons of levels that you need to (NEED TO) complete. With immersive music some of the best in a video game to date. You may notice the tracks are not that long, but given that, they are the best sounding tracks on the Playstation, Jag, Sat, as a result in that whole generation. Not PC however, but still quite good.
The game is very well designed and colorful, with worlds that match the theme of the areas you are in. The enemies of the levles are also designed with the theme in mind.
The controls are great and solid. Very functional. Rayman has blenty of power ups to from Betilla the fairy, the one who tried to stop Mr.Dark, and many of his friend. Like one of them gives him the power to use his hair as a helicopter to fly around (and cut ropes).
It's truly and experience you do not want to miss! Definitely look out for this game!
