Ratchet and Clank: going comando, is without a doubt an original classic. this game is packed full of weapons, gadgets, enemies, and alot of explosions. It's amazing sometimes that this game doesn't slowdown at all in some parts of the gameplay. You play Ratchet, a uhh... um... is he a uhh wombat or something? Anyway the story is set up like others in the series, an evil genious wants to create something that is so very dangerous, the whole galxy is in danger and you, a small short little creature with alot of spunk must stop him. Also, the story has a couple twists to keep you guessing. the cutscenes are well done and also very funny but their main purpose is to enforce the story and set the mood for the next planet you arrive to. You'll be runn'n and gunn'n through various envirornments and worlds, some of which you'll want to stop to look at the scenery... but you can't do that because there's three enemies behind you! Yes, G&C:GC is a great game that mixes elements of a platformer with a third person shooter, and adds a touch of an RPG as well. Most of the time you'll be sent to check out a planet that has about 2-3 missions each that stick to the story, however there are, on about all planents, side missions which you can play at any time. These side missions vary anywhere from battling various enimies in a battle arena to earn bolts, racing in various courses for more bolts, flying in space battles, collecting crystals from a desert full of man-eating monsters, and even having giant robot wars. This is where clank, the "secondary hero" in the series really comes in. He, at some points in the game will grow like, a gillion times his original size to fight a couple giant robots on a planent somewhere, full of smashible buildings, gun turrents, helicoptors about the size of his hand, etc. Also, clank has some puzzle missions of which he teams up with other robots to achieve an objective. Although these side missions are great you'll probobably find the story missions even better, for they are full of guns enemies, explosions, and bosses, oh my! The makers really keep you busy in this game by adding in possible "skill points", awarded for doing something really cool or finding a secret, they hep unlock certain features of the game such as cheats, suits, etc. Also, there are platinum bolts hidden throughout every planet which help with gun upgrades etc. Speaking of which, every weapons upgrades at least twice, and in order to complete this games completly you'll want to buy all weapons and upgrade them fully, right? This also keeps you busy and contibute to that small RPG element of which i stated earlier. This difficulty is medium and the story is little bit too short but you'll want to play it again on "challenge mode" because it unlocks certain features in the game, and you'll be able to start with all your original, twentysomething weapons. It shouldn't take you too long long to learn how to play this game that is if you know how to strafe and jump. I am the worst jumper in the world and when it comes to platformers I am awful but the jumping isn't hard at all in this game and focuses more upon the shooting instead. If you haven't bought a game in this series, I strongly encourage you to buy at least one of them. I haven't played the first, any this one narrates it so it seems you really haven't missed much so you can jump in instantly to the action, however I've heard great stuff about the original and this second one allows you to use your memory card to get all your other guns from the past game which i feel is really cool. The third one is very fun but there are more boss fights and less guns of which basically balances out but i found this one to be funner. And the newest one I heard is fun but it sounds as if this one is better. So there you have it, If you like guns, explosions, gadgets, etc. then pick up Ratchet and Clank: going comando today!
