Rastan is an action-platforming game on the Sega Master System. It is a port of the arcade game of the same name, with some differences like adjusted stage design (making the game a bit easier) and downgraded graphics, but the core gameplay is all here. You play as a barbarian strikingly similar to Conan in design (maybe Rastan is his cousin or something). You use your sword to hack and slash any bad guys in your way, including upwards sword thrusts and the jumping downwards sword attack of death! You can grab some power-ups including upgraded weapons and defensive boosts in addition to your standard health and +points drops. The game doesn't look as great as some of the other better platformers on the system, but controls just fine. Overall, Rastan is a decent action-platforming game, and should appeal to any fans of the arcade game or the genre in general. However, it doesn't really do anything to stand out from the crowded pack of other action-platformers on the system, especially when some of them are so great in design. Think of this as "Rastan the Okay."
