If given the proper attention, COULD be one of the best MMORPGs around

User Rating: 5 | Rappelz PC
Rappelz is a MMORPG placed on a medieval time, where swords, magic and bows are the main weapons of the game.

It has a pet system where you can tame and have a creature following you to help you fight (as if you had 2 characters being controlled at the same time).

The game is also focused strongly on dungeons parties - a place with much stronger monsters where teaming-up with up to 7 other players is required in order to get huge amounts of experience - and dungeon sieges - where 2 alliances fight for a dungeon, and the winner will get that dungeon ownership for a week, when a new dungeon siege will be held.

Pros:

-Auction House.
-Addicting if it is your first time playing.
-The game is very fun to play, specially because of the pet system. Currently there are over 15 different pets on the game.
-Pets level with you and can be evolved in order to get new skills, new looks and higher stats (Pokémon?).
-Mini-games like the Bear Road are fun to play sometimes.
-Dueling system.
-Graphics aren't that bad, they are decent for a game that was released 5 years ago.

Cons: (Ok, here we go)

-So many bugs and glitches everywhere... Sometimes you are playing and suddenly your game will simply shutdown. Monsters walk through walls and objects and you will most likely not be able to retrieve their drops if they are killed there, since it's a player-impassable terrain. Text bugs here and there, empty strings everywhere (names of places/items are replaced with "empty string:_numbers_" when they are glitched).
-So many typos everywhere and non-sensical phrases/words, as if it had been translated from Korean to English using Google translator.
-Random server crashes..
-Most of what you do in the game has a chance of "breaking". When taming pets, you have a chance to fail and lose your pet card. When enchanting gear, you have a chance of breaking and losing it. When combining certain items you have a chance to fail and lose both of them. All in all, too much gambling.
-Classes are imbalanced - Pet-based classes are way TOO strong and can often solo a dungeon (Yes, the place where up to 8 players are required to fight at) because of their overpowered pet skills and dual pet summoning ability.
-Very frustrating learning curve - Any character can use any level pet, regardless of their levels (For example a level 5 strider can have a level 150 white dragon out), which makes this game completely hard for new players to learn the game and how to behave in dungeon parties, since there will always be very strong pets on the party and the new players won't have to struggle to learn what to do, since the pet can take care of the whole party alone. Also new players will have a hard time finding dungeon parties, since most are labeled as "HLP DP" (High Level Pets only Dungeon Party).
-The developer team doesn't care about the existing bugs and keeps adding content without solving the problems first.
-A lot of random PKing (Player Killing) everywhere by high leveled players which will claim a certain farming spot and not to let anyone come near.
-Community is harsh and very immature - The "Whole Chat" (A chat where anyone can talk freely) is filled with other players insulting newcomers and talking crap about anything they want without getting punished for their offensive behavior.
-Game is very heavy and PC-demanding, even if your PC is really good, you'll have low fps sometimes. If your PC is not that good, don't even try running it.
-Game economy has gone to a point of no return, where nothing is worth a good sum of rupees (game currency) thanks to the Cash Shop system (You can buy items with virtual money called Gpotato).

In resume:

First time I played this game (almost 4 years ago) I loved it, because most of the cons I listed in this review didn't exist. Classes were balanced, good pets were hard to come by, leveling was hard, the community was nicer, there weren't as many bugs as there are now and the economy of the game was awesome.
Not anymore.

If you want to give it a try, go for it. But if you get frustrated and quit... Well, I warned you.
