Rampage Total Destruction is a boring, repetitive shovelware game that will bore you in only seconds.

I'm a huge fan of games made by Midway, but one series that never appealed to me was the Rampage series. The games looked very cool, but after 15 minutes of seeing the same scenery and a complete lack of challenge made it very boring. So don't be surprised when I say that Total Destruction kind of sucks. Like any Rampage game I've ever played, blowing up buildings is incredibly fun at first, but after the third level, you feel like your going through the motions.

So what makes Rampage Total Destruction on he Wii different? Well you can use motion controls to slam into buildings, pick up cars and throw people. The controls are surprisingly very good, and I enjoy using the Wiimote to kick a building. Still, I always thought that the original moves of stomping a car and eating a human made more sense, so how come you have to pick UP people and THROW them? It looks really stupid, and it is!

Anyways, starting up the title screen you'll hear something that completely rips off Blitzkreig Bop by the Ramones! I'm not kidding! You'll get campaign mode and a bunch of other worthless modes. "Campaign Mode" (or so I'm told) is actually destroying a bunch of buildings with never changing scenery. There are some interesting locations such as a pirate restuarant, but that's about it.

Believe it or not, this is the WORST in the struggling series. The gameplay is A LOT slower than previous Rampage games, making destroying buildings a chore to do. It also suffers from being too easy. Policemen try to shoot you, but it seems like there's minimal damage. Destroying a bridge causes you to lose health because you fall off, but even then, there's LITTLE DAMAGE!! Could've Midway possibly changed the scenery in every level?

The original Rampage and Rampage World Tour are also included on this game, and they're more fun than Total Destruction, although that's not saying much. The original Rampage is okay, but it does get boring after a while, although its graphics are sweet. World Tour's graphics look fantastic, even though they don't resemble the cities they're named after. Both these games are much faster than Total Destruction, but after the 10th level, World Tour gets old. I'm informed that this is also on the Nintendo 64.

In terms of graphics, Total Destruction looks like a Gamecube game (as a matter of fact, this game is ALSO on the Gamecube and PS2). The scenery is very boring, but the explosions and destruction look very cool, and the monsters don't look half bad. The citizens look stubby and ugly, however. The music is generic, and the scratchy voice acting ("Put me down you big oaf." "Hold it right there!") is mediocre. Still, hearing people scream is hilarious and suits the game well.

In a nutshell, Rampage Total Destruction is a boring, repetitive shovelware game that will bore you in only seconds. I suppose for Rampage fans this is a must have. Personally, I think this is one of the most boring video games in existence. I really did give this game a chance, but in all honesty I was weary of this game after a while. It isn't a total destruction as the name would imply, but it's nothing special either.
