Rallisport Challenge is personally my favorite racing game ever. I've never been a huge fan of racing games, and other than the Mario Carts, Gran Turismo, and Tokyo Racing I really can't say I know much about racing game. However, I know what I like, and I liked Rallisport Challenge. Graphics The cars looked really good, which when that's what you stare at for a portion of the game, it needs to look good. Also, I think it mentioned this in the Gamespot review, but the roads really seemed to blend in with the rest of the setting. If you look at it, you usually can't see the line between the road and where it ends. As for the setting, they were really great, especially the mountain/forest tracks. It really made you feel the suspense of being right on the edge of the mountain constantly on those tracks. Gameplay It takes some getting used to, but I really liked the single-player gameplay of RC. Most of the game you will be racing by yourself against the clock, which at first may seem a bit boring, it's really fun... don't ask me how. You may also not like how it warns you of turns at first, but it actually adds more strategy to the game, and there's less just repeatingly playing the tracks to memorize the tracks. But don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of memorizing... or at least getting used to. The tracks are really great, and they all have their challenging parts. Sound Mostly the roaring of the engine (of what I remember), but the voice advise from your co-pilot that warns you of turns is nice and pretty well done. Not much for sound for racing games if you ask me, but the little there is is nice. Value I never got into multiplayer much, mostly because I couldn't find many friends that could keep up with me (no one I know has the game :( ). The single-player campaign is really great, and I LOVE every single one of the tracks, especially the mountain ones. Also, the difficulty that doesnt let you redo tracks may not seem like much, but really is nice and adds a lot more challenge to it. Summary Great racing game, my favorite of all time probably. Definitely the best for the XBox, or anything this generation if you ask me. It's a little late to pick this game up now with PGR2, the new gran turismo, and the sequel to this one coming out, but just to let ya know... this is a great game.
