Hyped up misleading co-op and not fun
Second of all, co-op is not co-op. It's 2 players who get to play thru basically a tutorial/challenge mode and not the single player game. Also it's bugged, so get ready to do things over and over again because they couldn't play through this "co-op" themselves for testing. Second player couldn't get on elevators some levels, but they could drive an RC Car bomb on it! How awesome is that? We had to start the entire level over and replay it. We tried nightmare for a bit but had no luck killing the giant's with tentacles that smudge your face so bad you can't see at all and that's really not good for nightmare mode. Got stuck in Mid air in two levels, had to restart them... definitely not enjoyable.
Also in co op we could never choose our weapons, we just had to go with whatever we had, so there was nothing to personalize and play the game comfortably. It's just a little novelty like a 60$ kinect game that lasts 30 minutes.
In co-op when you shoot something it doesn't react. But in single player, we thankfully get to shoot something and it reacts a LITTLE. It doesn't stop them from running at you and getting free shots to take your health down.
Single player offers you no reason other than somewhat decent graphics to start of with. There is no story at all, other than all you know is you crashed and some guy saves you for some reason. Right after that you get told to go kill a bunch of people for the guy who saved you. Oh sure, why not! I like killing things after crash landing. You're now an crash landed errand boy. Have fun! There is no real interest for continuing besides the fact that a bunch of folks at Best Buy said the game is awesome. This game is far from awesome. It has neat graphics and is completely misleading. It has no rpg, no co-op, and nothing interesting that any other FPS has done. You have to run around picking up quests for no reason... this should just be part of the game. Why is there a decline in the quest screen? Are you just going to not play the game? Of course I'm going to accept! No I just want to run around the wasteland doing nothing, but thanks for offering me something to do in this game, sir. No I don't want a gun or a sweet ATV ride. I'll decline that and go run around with nothing!
This isn't an rpg, like any other FPS you can run around and kill stuff and get different weapons and gear. Aside from having an inventory you can scroll through like an RPG there is nothing RPG about this. So having quests just increases the game time because you have to go back and turn them in. Pretty lame excuse to increase the time you'll actually be playing. Also there is no damage or health, you can't customise a character to role play, you can't change your gear to suit your playing style. You just use what the game gives you. You can't pick up anything that an enemy drops to sell it, because they all have a few bucks on them. The guns they drop can't be picked up and sold, but you can find some beer. I'm sick of games claiming to be an RPG when they don't even come close. It's ridiculous.
The "quests" all have the same formula, go kill stuff pick something up, flip a switch and zipline down to the begining so you can turn them in. It's annoying especially when you drove to a different area, so now you have to run back and get your vehicle. Thanks! But no thanks.
The only reason I gave this game a 2 is because it has better graphics than your usual XBOX game, and it controls pretty well. Otherwise, the sound is horrible, the story is basically non-existant, and there isn't really much to do other than go do the "quests" (where any other FPS would just update your objectives, you have to run back and forth to press A on them). The game is boring when half the game is just running around, or driving. Very disappointed in Bethesda for releasing a game they couldn't finish, calling it an RPG when it isn't and saying there is co-op when they have a very badly obviously thrown in for no reason other than to say "Hey! We have co-op!" 2 player mode that plays nothing like the single player game. They claim there is a story to it, but it's just a narrator saying a couple of sentences for no reason. "So they went in there and had fun killing things!" That's the story. I could have told that.
This is garbage, and does not deserve an 8 rating.
