OMG! This game HURTS!

I remember R-Type and R-Type 2. I also remember being able to beat them in one setting (without unlimited lives, thank you). I must be old because it kicks my butt now. NEVERTHELESS, I love it. The classic graphics are true to the original and the updated graphics are sweet. Being able to switch back and forth is nice as well. The sound track is nothing outstanding, but bear in mind; it IS an 80's video game. Only hair and clothes WERE outstanding then. Newcomers may be discouraged at first due to it's difficulty but it'll pass. If you don't swear, you may start.
The price tag of 1200 points (about $20 USD) is a bit steep, but for some reason spending points doesn't hurt as bad as spending dollars, even though you can't have one without the other. Summed up: it's a solid game and a real thumb burner. The controls are tight, which is something to be desired in many of the XBox arcade classics.
Play it!! You'll get frustrated, but you'll just keep coming back and back and back. . . . .
