A taxi driver in a post-apocalyptic world delivers fares, packages and a barrage of bullets if necessary.

"..gotta get a ride, gotta get a trip, to the other side, of the cityyy..." Yes, that's right, Quarantine has its own theme song.

It says on the back of the package that the music heard in the game is "Australian Rock", and, though some songs can be somewhat pretentious, others will grow on you after time.

There is a radar at the bottom right hand of the screen (which is made to appear that you are actually driving a cab, meaning that it is a "wheel" view) that tells you of possible nearby fares (though you'll hear them whistle and/or call out "Taxi!") and, if you have ever heard stories of the people a cabbie runs into on the job, picture that in a futuristic post-apocalyptic environment.

Part of the game's charm is in its unique passengers, all with something to say when you pick them up and when you drop them off (the latter depending on whether or not you got them there in time) if you run out of time, the possible cash you could make off of the fare begins to decrease.

Upon picking them up, you will be given a time limit, a distance meter, and an extremely useful arrow.

If you're sick and tired of looking for where the fare lives, or just didn't like the way he talked to you when you picked him up, you can use the Eject feature to launch them out of the cab at any time.

After you have picked up enough fares, you can use the cash to purchase weapons and armor for your cab, as well as repairs and ammunition.

Finding the places that sell the aforementioned goods involves bringing up the map and choosing the place, which then sets the distance/arrow meter at the bottom-right hand corner to the location of the store.

If you were to hear a whistle or yell from a passenger, you could manually pick them up and the arrow/distance meter will be reset to the fare's destination.

The streets are also very hostile, maniacal drivers and molotov cocktail-throwing jaywalkers are among the threats.

Aside from the guns that are mounted onto the cab from the beginning, the guns that can be purchased later on include a pair of "uzi"-like guns, that mount to the driver/passsenger side, and can be used in a drive-by type scenario if necessary, by switching to the side view (other than the regular view and the side view one can also look behind them as well) and using the fire button from there, and a hood-mounted saw-like weapon that can be used at close range.

If you can find a copy, and already own a 3DO, buy it, if for nothing else the ridiculously catchy soundtrack (there are 9 selectable songs to choose from throughout the game, or choose 0 to play nothing at all)

Blessed Be
