John Romero's last words.

Why do people love quake? The 3-D graphics? Maybe. I'll tell you.

Gameplay: Quake took a leap into the next generation. It has new awesome weapons, like the thunder thingy, the grenade launcher and of course the SUPER NAILGUN. This time you don't use space to activate objects, you run into buttons. Awesome. Quake is the traditional FPS gameplay we all love from Doom. Enhanced in several ways. It also has highly enhanced multiplayer.

Graphics: In 1996 these 3D polygonal graphics were the best you good get. I played this when I was younger and it blew me away. To hell. It might seem pixelated these days but it is one of the smoothest and fastest FPSes I have played. It is also very atmospheric.

Sound: Why isn't there any music during levels? Well to be honest, it wouldn't work. Quake is a game that works well silent. I think it was a good move. Instead, you get to listen to the awesome sound effects of awesomeness. I just love the grenade launcher sound effects. Don't you? When there is music, its amazing. Trent Reznor pwned his job. The main theme is one of the best.

Story: Its pretty much like Doom. I don't really know it, but it is pretty much like Doom. Your a marine and you kill some dudes. Good enough for me.#

Value: Quake on steam is the same price as doom, and it also comes with GLQuake and Quakeworld. An awesome package.

Verdict: Quake was a massive milestone for shooters and still is today, Play it, whoever the hell you are.
