A fun, if incredibly frustrating, ride.

Positives: Addictive game play, some great voice work, great to pick up and play, quick load times

Negatives: Incredibly difficult and frustrating near the end

Pursuit Force is one of the games I got as part of Sony's welcome back program for the PSN. At the low low price of free, I received the game Pursuit Force (and Killzone Liberation, which I am still working on...) and was not disappointed. Pursuit Force's arcade style game play is perfect for the PSP, and is a great portable game.
The Pursuit Force is an elite division of the police formed to help clear the state of gang violence. In order to defeat the gangs overrunning the city, you will have to jump from vehicle to vehicle, kill whoever is inside the car, then take control of that car, catch up to another thug vehicle, and start the process over again. Oh sure, you could sit in your comfy police car and shoot from there, but jumping from car to car is probably the best thing about the game. Other methods of dispatching foes are slow and reward you less. It's clear that the developers knew car jumping was the main draw in the game.
Of course, the game also features levels on foot, sea, and even in a helicopter. Though some lack the fun of jalopy-jumping, most are still a blast to play. The main issue with the game comes from the difficulty of the last half of it. Missions become almost impossibly hard, and you will replay some levels dozens of times before beating them. However, beating these levels is satisfying, and the fun to be had with Pursuit Force definitely stands out over the flaws in the experience.
