@Rushaoz: Getting 360 games to become backwards compatible on Xbox One takes very little resources. The reason why it takes so long to get certain games to become backwards compatible is because they need permission from the publisher and the publisher doesn't always want to give it.

@stopbeingoffended: Xbox 360 never "destroyed" PS3 PS3 caught up to the 360 in sales and even surpassed it.

@Bigbudd0045: Backwards Compatablity is not a primary reason to own an Xbox One but it is a selling point of the console and a feature that the Xbox One has that the PS4 does not. and being able to play your previous gen games on your new console and utilize Xbox One features with your old 360 games is pretty appealing to many people. Everytime there is a news story concerning Xbox One backwards compatable games it rockets to the top spot where it is the most clicked on thing, so you can downplay the importance of backwards compatablity if you like but that would change the fact that it is a feature many do care about and many do take advantage of.

When it comes to getting timed or exclusive DLC content whether it be for Destiny or COD or whatever, Don't you realize that Sony has to pay for these deals? Companies didn't just give Sony timed DLC for COD because they like Sony better or because Sony was leading in sales, Sony had to PAY for it. Last generation Microsoft paid 50 million to have GTA 4 DLC exclusive for a year. You think Rockstar just gave it to them because the 360 was selling better? I find it pretty funny that you don't know this. Sony has pretty much took a page out of Don Mattrick's hand book this generation. They are doing pretty much everything Microsoft did last gen, that made the 360 so successful.

You say that if a console doesn't have exclusives how can it combat the competition? I already said that exclusives aren't the only way to sell your console. Exclusives are just one piece. and Xbox does have exclusives. and this coming E3 they will have more. You can brag about stuff like Death Stranding or The Last of Us 2 but those games are not coming out this year. Detroit Become Human, Spider-Man, Days Gone, none of these are confirmed for 2017 Shenmue 3? lol yeah that aint coming out this year lol and these are the big games that the sony fanboys are bragging about and hyping. The thing is Sony is announcing games that are far out and blowing their load early so to speak where as MS hasn't announced everything that is on the horizon.

@Bigbudd0045: There is a difference between a console having more exclusives, and a console having more exclusives you are INTERESTED in.

I saw the list of 40+ exclusives (or whatever the number was) on the PS4 side. I can literally count on one hand the number of exclusives that even remotely interest me. Infact many of them are just small indies or arcade games that you can get on PC. or niche Japanese titles that sony fanboys brag about and pretend to like but when they come out, they won't buy them.

Game consoles aren't just game consoles anymore. Saying you buy a game console just for exclusives is like saying you bought a $600 iphone just to make calls. Game consoles are now media hubs, entertainment centres, The reason why the Xbox One S is such a success is because a console that can play 4k Blu ray movies, and the latest AAA games for $300 is a great value, especially when Stand alone 4k Blu ray players cost the same.

There is also things like controllers this maybe a matter of opinion but the Xbox One controller DESTROYS the PS4 controller especially when it comes to racing games and shooters, online ecosystem (XBL vs PSN and what features they provide) the community, things like NATIVE backwards compatability being able to take your previous gen library with you on your new console.

I get what you are saying, but my point is Exclusives alone aren't the sole reason to buy a console there are other reasons to.

@bombsovase: yeah the list is pretty meh.... Let's just hope MS makes some big announcements in E3 They can't just make it all about Scorpio.

Install base has nothing to do with it. The Wii U has more exclusives then both Sony and MS and it has the smallest install base.

@lcrava: Xbox 360 barely had any exclusives and it still sold well.

So saying "RIP" is a bit of an over exaggeration.

@darksynced: In all fairness, many of those games are niche Japanese titles and those kind of games probably wouldn't sell on xbox anyway. They don't even sell that well on Playstation for that matter.

Losing Scalebound was a pretty big blow though. It was a AAA title that many were looking forward to. Playstation will always have more exclusives then Xbox because they have more first party studios and most Japanese developers really want nothing to do with Xbox.

@fedor: Yeah, if you played the games you'll find the story is actually quite good and the characters are likeable.
