I really hope Smash 4 adopts something like this. I have thousands of gold ingame...but they still want me to drop extra dollars to unlock DLC characters that are already downloaded to my system because people can play them against me when I go online. Why can't I just unlock them with gold?

I'm also in the club of not being an EA fan. To me, the company is more of an investment firm who buys up profitable video games, monetizes them more for additional profit, then gets rid of them should the dollars stop rolling in fast enough. Sure, that's good business, but it's not good for the gamers who enjoyed and supported those games prior to EA acquiring them and squeezing the dollars out of the popularity of the IP without putting those dollars back into sufficiently improving it.
Me? It was SimCity Social. Playfish was doing well at updating and maintaining the game, rolling out new features like the second map on the beach and the military stuff to defend against the aliens...then EA steps in and says, "Shut it down. Now." Apparently the profit margins weren't high enough to bother caring about the loyal, active players.
Codename NX? As someone who F2P'd Maple Story for so long, I don't know that I'm particularly fond of hearing something so close to "NX cash", lol. But I'm sure whatever Nintendo is doing will be fine. :p
And I'm sure plenty of sports fans would take the gun to the mouth than listen to this guy talk if he's often as abrasive as this article makes him out to be. Honestly, if you wanna make negative pokes at things, try being a comedian instead. If it's not funny, then it's just stupid and closed-minded.
@Cryptics: "The real world value of your account is zero," is always in the terms and agreements of any game you sign up for, regardless of the entry cost or however much you put in after joining. So if you make a claim in court for the value of your account, the courts will award you nothing.
Besides, if you get banned over grieving other players, do you really want to take legal action and have the company lawyer show up with proof of what you've done? It's easy enough to be an internet tough guy behind a keyboard, but wait until you get shamed for it face to face.
<< LINK REMOVED >> If Candy Crush isn't played by gamers, why do they keep adding new episodes and levels? Surely anyone who wasn't a gamer would have quit long before level 875, especially in the face of multiple insanely hard levels along the way. Your average FPS "gamer" probably hasn't put in the time and effort that a Candy Crush player headed into World Eleven has.
Awesome image. Fursuiters ^_^

I played RB3 at a friend's place (don't have it myself, just GH3+WT on the Wii) and got a 98% on expert singing "Mud on the Tires" in one attempt. Microphone didn't seem to be a problem for me.
I hope the library of songs is expanded as well. What turned me off of Guitar Hero was that I didn't like enough of the music, but I'm not as much into rock, so that's mostly on me. Later Rock Band titles did add some country that I really like though, so I'm hoping more of that shows up as the series reboots.

It's not for the advantage. It's more to put females in the spotlight by giving them female only event, seeing as so few of them make it to the top of open events. And it's not that the females are disadvantaged physically, it's just because there are so many males dedicated to video games.
I gotta think that this rule has nothing to do with someone's actual sexual preference. At some point, there had to have been a bunch of guys who said, "hey let's go win the women's event because it's less competitive" and showed up as a group of gay/trans women. And because it's eSports, they aren't put through physical checks of any sort and probably got away with it. I suppose this rule was to curb such a stunt, but came out very wrong.
I'd rather they just bring back SimCity Social, honestly.
