@AVM1986 Nice Serious Sam 3 reference...I completely loved that game. If the reviewer didn't like SS3 either I'll definitely put an * by his low score of this game.
@italiano72 Well I agree that games aren't the same thing as movies, and maybe the ending does suck (haven't played it yet). But, I still think the article has a point in that changing a game's story to just suit the masses is a bad precedent to set. I applaud bioware for their progressive take on homosexuality in the game (based on the GS article). Should they remove that content just because it's not popular with a large segment of gamers?
This article is spot-on. Unless we want our video games to be featureless, middle-of-the-road cliches churned out for the least common denominator (a la the Hollywood blockbuster), we should hope our favorite studios have the balls to stick with their artistic visions and not cater to the masses.
