The story didn't post. Take 2:

Ok so today was the pre-order day for Canadians and I have to say I'm amazed at how popular this product was and how unpopular the Wii was.
I arrived 5 hours before opening time and to my amazement, there were already 9 people lined up. They had their tents set up and everything and it was clear to me that they were obviously friends and were working together (nothing wrong with that, a little unfair but hey that's how it is). This store only had 8 PS3 preorders.
So I made a 15 min drive to another location (this Ebgames was located inside a shopping mall), they wouldn't open their doors until 5 hours had passed, but I managed to convince the security guard to let me in and he did. Then as I approached the store, I was surprised that there were already 2 people lined up already and it turns out they also convinced the security guard to let them in. Then 2 minutes later after I stepped in line, 5 more people approached the line. This store also had only 8 preorders. One of the guys standing in line said that one of his friends started lining up at the first location at MIDNIGHT last night. That's 10 hrs before the store opens.
Well despite all that work it was worth it. I was pre-order #3, but if I hadn't gotten in line 2 minutes sooner, I wouldn't have gotten one.
I did notice one thing in common between the lineups and that was the Wii lineup had nobody lining up initially, but the people who arrived late for the PS3 decided to get the Wii anyway.
Phew! All that work and it was definitely worth it.
