In addition to arguments already made, there is also the case of crappy internet connection still being reality in many parts of the world. Nor crappy per se, but 60gb downloads can still take forever. It all boils down to what's most profitable, ignoring customers from areas with slow internet, or releasing digital copies for the same price as a hard copy, while also preventing people from lending games/selling them.

I would like to think the general population prefer the death of some computer generated NPC over an actual person....

Obviously a great deal of time and thought was put into this post, and I must say that I totally agree with point 1 and 3 and 5, on point 4 I think you are quite small minded however. These topics are important, feedback is always good but I must disagree on the "disturptive loading screens" issue, I had no problem with the loading back in '11 and I don't have it now, it depends on your system and that's hardly Bethesda's fault, secondly you point to mods that open up graphical possibilities in hindsight, that is hardly fair. Point 2 I don't really know what you're on about I've never had any real problems with quests that I can remember, not unless a mod caused it, I haven't played on consoles though, so that's beyond me on this one, I guess we could go on about the rocky launch of the PS3 version......that's old. I do however believe that a lot of people who got introduced to the ES franchise for the first time with Skyrim got a little in over their head with the modding, not really thinking about the consequences in the code or taking the time to Readme.

The way I see that unfortunate ordeal is that Bethesda really had problem optimizing Skyrim for the PS3 like so many other developers, but not releasing it would possibly be worse, so they went for the lesser evil. I'm not excusing it, or trashing the PS3 (I have one myself) but most of us know the architecture of the PS3 was a pain in the ass for game creators. *on topic* I truly believe this E3 is it, and we will finally see Fallout 4 presented on a tremendous stage show! Either as a Bethesda production or as an Obisidan title with Chris Avelone joining Todd Howard on stage, if outsourced we might also see a new Elder Scrolls presented. Most likely it will be a Bethesda creation though as a highlight, and with various other titles from ID Software etc. If Bethesda makes Fallout 4, that could mean we'll see another "spin off" from Obsidian though which is great! Either way I'm pretty sure well see a Fallout title presented at E3.

When people are to pay for an early access title, it warrants a review of it's current state so people can decide if this is playable or not so they can get an idea of what to expect.

That was really weird for me too.

I had a little trouble at the start of my first session. This is how I got my game smooth.

- Turn view distance all the way down (no real difference graphically for some reason but significantly higher performance)

- Turn Motion blur off

- if trouble with screentearing and using Nvidia, open the controlpanel, select Dying Light in 3D settings and adjust Vsync to Adaptive

No I can play the game smoothly with Textures, Shadows and Foliage on highest setting, HBAO+, FOV, AOC and AA on.

i7 2600k @ 4.0 Ghz, GTX 780.

It's silly and true indeed, but with that small difference in price it's an easy choice imo.
