Tom forgets to mention the one important point, what if you change boxes like socks but still want to keep your games, and what if you forget your account details.. then all those purchases are worthless.. If this is the direction Microsoft is going, then I will for sure not buy their "Xbox One". They should call it "Xbox No Thanks" instead. I've spent a lot on money on them but not this time. As a collector and gamer, this business model is just ringing "Theft" in my ears...

@MN121MN @xiaoyangguang But say if they had 30,000.. what 30,000 US children? Well I'm Swedish so how well would such a study translate to us? Then again we are being raped by multiculturalism and politicians who fools us (Obviously they make money to bring more people over here) Anyhow, 30,000 is a very small sum of people if we put it over a larger place on earth. 30,000 is 30 test subjects in 1000 cities or 300 test subjects in 100 cities or 3000 in 10 cities each. Sounds much? Not really. So if someone makes such a "large" study then they still have to limit it to some certain location.

@TonyKoeffler It doesn't matter though if you study 10-100-1000 or even 10,000 subjects. Because if you are going to translate the figure over a whole people group or age group of people all around the world then those numbers won't be anywhere near a "conclusion" 10,000 study subjects out of a possible 100,000 in one city (say there are 100,000 teenagers in a small city) then it may show a somewhat accurate data but it's still just 10% so the next batch of 10,000 kids could be different. And if we speak of a socially fucked up country like the US is then you got multiple races in one city that has quite different cultures so even there you will face obstacles.

@megaspiderweb09 *Majority who missed their games. Lol what a contradiction, they have made some of the best current generation games, so what you assume is... well your own assumption. The good thing with game developers is that they make games they want to make and not those you want them to make.

@far-outdude Not all games are made for you, if you don't like the console market, Fine don't. But don't expect for a minute that you are more enlightened because you play on pc. Playing on pc is also WAY easier than playing on consoles, I have certainly no trouble with either but it does take more training and skill to be fast and efficient with a controller. And NO it does not dumb down a game, I would even go as far to say that, because a mouse is so accurate, one could have extreme superskills and kill about everything on a screen compared to what you can do in a console game. Also exclusive games is a nice concept and should not be given up, multiplatform is not the key for all titles. Maybe you should go learn using a controller...

This whole study is like, Oh it proves that it desensitizes its players, but oh wait only 30 test subjects? How well does 30 test subjects translate to maybe 1 million or 5 millions or 50 millions, it's accuracy could go anywhere between 0,000001% to 100% so therefore it simply hasn't proven anything at all. Studies here and there, for something to be remotely correct it has to have more test subjects and more varying ages, and between sexes? and a long term testing, not just 2-10 hours once in their lifetime,. But anyway, how could they test each subject and then know how it affects them a while afterwards? How do they know if the test subjects are entirely honest. Long term testing would also not work because if they'd lock all up then those test subject playing those games would definitely have another affect on those kids than if they were free and could hang out with their family and friends and so forth. And if they were free, they just wouldnt be able to determine that playing those games is the sole cause for whatever feeling they are experiencing.

So in final words, most studies are bullshit because its entirely like guessing and guessing can never be for certain. And especially a study like this will never be correct (even if it now would be true that it hurts children) Study-makers should be seen as what they are, amateurs. A true professional doesn't guess.

@demonkingx5 A ps2 can handle this, a Ps1 can handle it too, it all boils down to one thing, is it optimized for the given system? If not, then it won't but if it is, it won't slow down.

EA is still way much better than Ubisoft... Now there is an arrogant company worthy of the title!
