@ishsgames: Intel & NVIDIA are no saints but their crap is working better for me at the moment than AMD's. And I was a long time AMD/ATI fan when both existed separately.
@eli150: They are making a 360 version. There is also a product page on steam for the PC version. With the PCs system requirements I don't expect it to be a huge leap over the 360 version. Vista/7/8/10, Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 1GB Ram, GeForce 8800 GT, DX9, 7GB Storage.
I'm going to simplify the problem with an easy to understand solution. Its called backwards compatibility. You release a new system with better capabilities and support 100% backwards compatibility so you can carry over your previous purchases. This way you can play the new better versions and still the old. This article is over complicating things. An upgrade in the console world means buying a whole new system because that is how the console business is structured. MS doesn't even let you change the internal hard drive in the XB1 and they're thinking about upgrading the system?
