[QUOTE="ShimmerMan"]I enjoy reading the complaints that people throw at Skyrim because most of them come down to nitpicking. If you want to hate the game just hate it, let loose. I know people like to buck a trend so it's not suprising seeing hate towards TES V. I did however think people could come up with more imaginative complaints but " There's a bug which destroyeed a quest, that's it ( QQ ) most dissapointing game of 2011".THA-TODD-BEAST

I agree. If you claim that Skyrim is a terrible game, I don't care who you are: You instantly lose all credibility right then and there. Aside from a few issues that one should expect to be present in any open world game in which the player has millions of combinations of quests, items, and paths to take, Skyrim is as close to perfect as an open world RPG can get with our current technology.

The point is Skyrim is nothing but a dumbed down version of Oblivion with little innovation. Yes there are some improvements and it's a superb game compared to many others but I find it slightly disappointing. They haven't really pushed the boundaries in terms of combat and openess, it's more of a case of same old same old. Many people don't mind that, why change a winning formula? But for me who played all Morrowind and Oblivion addons as well as heavily modded all those it's slightly too similar.I think like many new games now they're being held back by dated consoles.

For me actually though BF3 was by far the worst game of 2011... awful single player and ridiculously unreliable servers. I could only get about 20 min gameplay before losing connection to the server.

Has anyone noticed pro flight simulator adverts popping up all over the place? What's really weird though is the sales tripe that's on the website.. something you don't associate with 'normal' games.

What's even more disturbing is the amount of websites that clearly have fake reviews about this game, google the game and there are several pages of them on different so called 'review' websites. There are even websites called proflightsimscam dot com etc. saying how amazing this software is and not a scam and clearly something setup in 5 minutes using wordpress. Clicking an advert doesn't actually take you to the company website but a review website which again looks like it took 5 minutes to setup. It looks like the company has spent more on the web presence of this game than the actual game itself. Very odd!

i don't think latency is an issue on LAN these days especially if only 20 clients. to be honest a load of cheap 4/6 port switches will be better, if you're using one 20 port switch and people turn up without long enough cables you're going to have problems if you don't have spare switches.

just looked at the review on overclockers and they say it's not much different to the more expensive mobos and some cases beats them so I'm pretty happy with it. http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/cpu_mainboard/gigabyte_z68ap-d3_review/11

i won't be overclocking. you think I should get slightly better model? I just thought £40 extra wouldn't make a difference, I know it seems a ittle odd paying for top processor then buying a cheaper board but it's prob better than buying a cheap processor and a better board. With a geforce 570 I didn't think it would make any difference.. but now I have second thoughts.

I have just bought an i7 2700k with gigabyte z68ap-d3 mobo

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-364-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

but now I think I've bought the wrong board and should have bought something a little more expensive around the £110 mark like the Asus P8P series. Do you think this cheaper board will slow my i7 2700k down or will it make little difference.

** edit sorry i did add that link in properly but the forum wouldn't accept it.

[QUOTE="wurd"][QUOTE="wis3boi"] This. And if it MUST be AMD (being brand loyal is dumb anyways), the 1100 and 8150 are basically neck and neck in a lot of games (assuming this is for gaming)mattuk69
I was looking at i7 but the money I saved on the AMD meant I could get a 570 instead of a 6850. Surely that's a better system?

ah ok. would i be looking at the z68 chipset for i5? Not really, your just saying cut down on the CPU power for GPU power = better performance. When in fact you will get better results with a i7 and a 6850. I agree with others. Go for a i5 2500K.
